2-day training. Licensed Timber Operator
Must Pre-Register with SCLC | Fee: $75

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – “Incident Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors”
Location:  Shasta District Fairgrounds, Fusaro Hall
This safety training class will allow attendees to receive an “Interagency Emergency Equipment Operator Card” issued by Cal Fire and U.S. Forest Service through the State Fire Marshalls Office.  When properly equipped, persons with the “Vendor Card” can work on fires under Cal Fire or Forest Service command.

Instructor’s:  Tom Fields, Fire Science Instructor with Shasta-Trinity Regional Occupation Program and Assistant Chief, Palo Cedro Fire Department.  Gary Lyons, retired Battalion Chief, Cal Fire.

Class size is limited to 40 students.

Fee: $75 for those who register and are not members of Logger’s Association of California. Ne elective Certified Logger CE Credit Units but provides “Proof of CPR”, for annual renewal as LANC Certified Loggers

Each year SCLC enlists the assistance of volunteers which include Professional Foresters, Loggers, Resource Professionals, Agency Staff, Scientists, Business Owner’s and Landowners. Local and regional students are introduced to the Timber and Construction Industries and careers in the Forest Products Industry.

11:00 a.m.  Exhibits Open at Shasta District Fairgrounds

11:30 a.m. to Conclusion – Presidents Ax Throw and Luncheon
Location:  Shasta District Fairgrounds, Joe Spear Judging Arena and Cattlewomen’s.
The competition is fierce as the Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference Past Presidents compete for the bull’s eye.  Winner takes home the Mike Balcom Award!

9:00 am to Conclusion – “Log Loader Skills Competition”
Location:  Shasta District Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds East Parking Lot
Test your log loading skills in the SCLC Log Loader Skills Competition.  Along with bragging rights, awards will be given for 1st through 5th place.
To participate in this event, Loader Operators must be a SCLC “Member” and are required to be sponsored by a company or be an owner/operator.

9:00 am to Conclusion - “Excavator Rodeo”
Location:  Shasta District Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds Infield
Can you dig it? Balance it?  That is the question that contestants from far and wide will try to answer.  Join us as we watch experienced excavator operators fight time and gravity to take home the prize money.  Equipment available to competitors will include CAT, Case, John Deere, Komatsu, and Link Belt excavators.
There is a $10 entry fee to participate in this event.
